Hello 2012

The end of 2011 was incredibly relaxing. We spent it surrounded by family, laying by a pool, and eating perfectly roasted veggies. I could not ask for more. Now it's time to kick off 2012 on the right foot. This year is going to be filled with lots of qualifying stuff so I can practice over here. I swear I won't be a professional student, although I do feel like it's never ending. But instead of focusing on all the stuff I have to do that is less-than-fun, I want to focus on enjoying each day. It isn't easy to appreciate all the small things that make your life great.

Today my little things were ...

a watermelon smoothie that tasted sweet as can be

and tomato plants that are growing heavy with little tomatoes :)

I'm heading into 2012 knowing it will be hard work, knowing I am not in the exact place I wanted to be from a career & fitness perspective, but also believing that it can be the year that it all changes.

Hang your inspiration board and follow your dreams ... 2012 is going to be year to remember.

Off to pack for the gym tomorrow,

Green Overload

Going up to see the in-laws is always a fun experience. The Aussie has the sweetest, best family ever. When we arrived we chatted and then checked out the garden.

Lots of greens springing up! It was very exciting to see how much they had grown.

After the garden tour we headed in the father-in-law's new truck to a lake.

We had to do a bit of scrambling down the rock, which was a bit difficult in my Toms ;) When we got home we tried several types of cider--Cinnamon & Vanilla, Strawberry, and our beloved Mixed Berry. With the cider, we chowed on Turkish bread and dips. Then the Aussie's fabulous mother prepared a delicious veg meal--pumpkin soup, roasted veggies, garlic broccolini, and mashed cauliflower. I had to roll into the living room after to watch AFL (eww!).

Today we chopped some wood and read. All-in-all a lovely weekend. And look what we came home with . . .

Since we got home a bit later than expected we relied on Vegout for dinner.

Panang curry, brown rice, and garlic roti.

Time for shower & book reading (The Girl Who Chased the Moon),
