Hudson - 2.5 yrs

His stats:

Weight: 34 pounds

Height: 94 centimeters

His likes/dislikes:

He loves his bike and has been riding outside for the past few months - his favourite thing is bombing hills (aka going down super fast and relying on dad at the bottom of the hill to be his brakes). He is still ball obsessed and we have recently introduced a baseball bat into the mix. Still a little bookworm and he 'reads' before nap every day at home - favourites include Bear Hunt, Go Dog Go, and Are You My Mother. Dad also always reads to him before bed. In the last few months he's also started loving stuffed animals, which he refers to as 'his guys'. His guys sleep with him, and his favourites are his puppy, penguin, baa baa the sheep. Puppy and Penguin drive to daycare with us and often want to listen to music and dance.

His favourite foods at the moment are: oatmeal, 'special treats' (anything with sugar!), peas. eggs, watermelon, cantaloupe and especially bread. He dislikes mashed potato.

He dislikes getting his hair brushed and is showing no interest in using the toilet.

His adventures:

His crib was converted to a bed (i.e. one side was removed), and he handled the transition really well. I was afraid I'd find him roaming the house at night, but if he wakes up he either calls for dad or comes to our room.

We had an incredible summer filled with evening walks/rides, multiple beach vacations, and soaking up every minute of sun!

Thoughts on the last few months:

The learning still blows my mind. Every day I swear he changes. He's quick to tell us if we use a naughty word (although he does think 'ridiculous' is a naughty word no matter how many times we say it is not). He seems to understand we're having another baby - who he swears is a baby boy. But I don't think he realizes how much will change (heck, I can't even really appreciate it). He's spent the last few months wanting a scooter, and is planning to ask Santa for one. Little does he know his baby brother or sister will bring him one!

The other night after we got home he looked up in the sky and said he would fly up in helicopter to get a star for me, dad, and him. He loves cuddles and is incredibly sweet - always shares with you. He's still a daddy's boy and when dad is home mom is a third wheel (but that's okay). He's just an incredible little boy and we are so lucky that he's our son (coming from a completely unbaised mom . . . haha).

THIRTY SIX WEEKS

Food Aversions: Nothing at the moment.

Food Cravings: None at the moment.

Sleep: Waking up 3-5 times a night.

Stretch marks? None so far, but I'm sure they will come.

Miss Anything? Really missing sleeping on my stomach :(

Fun and/or Interesting Things from the last few Weeks: Had a night in the city with the sister-in-law at a fancy hotel and went for massages (the pic above is the special pregnancy massage where you are on a futon on the floor).

Belly Button in or out? Popped just a touch and it freaks me out.

Wedding rings on or off? Off.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy :)

New Baby Items: Does a car count? We put both carseats in our car and we were like a bunch of sardines! We quickly realised we needed a new car. We were planning to get a second car in the next 1-2yrs but thought it was best to get one now.

THIRTY TWO WEEKS

Weight gained: 12 pounds

Workouts: Same - steps and squats.

Labor Signs: None

Symptoms: Back pain and rolling over in bed is a huge effort!

Movement: I can't help but freak about movement since I don't feel as much with the placenta in the front. I do love feeling the baby move, except when he/she gets into a weird position.

Food Aversions: Nothing at the moment.

Food Cravings: No cravings but kinda in love with salty and sweet popcorn.
Sleep: Lots of trips to the bathroom and afternoon naps.

Stretch marks? None so far, but I'm sure they will come.

Miss Anything? Always the same - sleeping on my stomach, a cold cider and coke zero!

Fun and/or Interesting Things from the last few Weeks: Spent a few great weekends at the in-laws. We also went to a baby and toddler expo

Belly Button in or out? Still in.

Wedding rings on or off? Off.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy :) and ready to know if baby #2 is a boy or girl

New Baby Items: A lot, considering I really don't need anything yet. We also bought our second carseat! Things are getting real.

Twenty Eight Weeks - Baby #2

TWENTY EIGHT WEEKS

Weight gained: 9 pounds (but it feels, and looks, like a million!)

Workouts: Hitting my steps and doing squats but have only made it to the gym a few times in the last month.
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: Back pain and the baby gets into uncomfortable positions that make it painful to walk.

Movement: Feeling plenty of movement but no big make-your-belly moves.

Food Aversions: Can't handle hot decaf mochas anymore. Gag me!

Food Cravings: Randomly craved peanut butter m&ms because someone mentioned them.
Sleep: Napping a few times a week but sleep is very interrupted.

Stretch marks? None so far, but I'm sure they will come.

Miss Anything? Always the same - sleeping on my stomach, a cold cider and coke zero!

Fun and/or Interesting Things from the last few Weeks: The in-laws put their camper down at Queenscliff, so we spent a few weekends there which was fun.

Belly Button in or out? Still in.

Wedding rings on or off? Off.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, but over being pregnant and cry a little on the inside every time I think about the 12 or 13 weeks I have left

New Baby Items: Still no shopping!!

Twenty Four Weeks - Baby #2

(no clue why my arm looks so weirdo)

TWENTY FOUR WEEKS

Weight gained: 4 pounds

Workouts: Last week and half I have been sick, and decided to skip the gym (being preggo and sick at the gym did not seem like a good idea to me). But I have been hitting my steps still and doing the squats every day.
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: Nothing too bad lately, but probably because I've been complaining more about being sick! Haha
Movement: Yeah, feeling the baby now. It's such a reassuring feeling when the baby moves.

Food Aversions: none

Food Cravings: none
Sleep: Pretty good lately, and including lots of naps!

Stretch marks? None so far, but I may be getting a weird one on my ribs (lets hope not).

Miss Anything? Always the same - sleeping on my stomach, a cold cider and coke zero!

Fun and/or Interesting Things from the last few Weeks: Did a beach weekend which was amazing and I loved watching Hudson playing in the ocean.

Belly Button in or out? Still in.

Wedding rings on or off? Off.

Happy or moody most of the time: So happy and just hoping for a healthy little bub!

New Baby Items: Still none, but I'm itching to buy one!!!

They're multiplying!

I'm so incredibly excited to announce that Hudson is going to be promoted to big brother in June! We've decided not to find out what we're having, and I can honestly say I just want a healthy baby. Two little boys will be so much fun and having a girl would be amazing. Either way, we're very lucky.

TWENTY WEEKS

Weight gained:1.5 pounds

Workouts: 10 weeks in I started wearing my FitBit - averaged 12,500 steps per day for December and January. In January I also started a squat challenge, and am doing 75 per day. I am trying to make it to the gym a few times a week for some light lifting - nothing too strenuous.

Labor Signs: None, thankfully.
Symptoms: I feel 30 weeks pregnant with how I am sleeping and the bump! It probably didn't help that I only lost half the weight I put on with Hudson, so I began this pregnancy much heavier.
Movement: Felt movement a few days before 20 weeks (similar to with Hudson). My placenta is in the front so that means I won't feel as much movement. I forgot how amazing the flutters feel!

Food Aversions: none

Food Cravings: none
Sleep: See above. Using snoogle (never stopped after I had Hudson . . . haha).

Stretch marks? None so far, but I am sure I will get a few new ones. With Hudson I got some on the sides and a few on the stomach. They are light and don't bother me.

Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach, a cold cider and coke zero (exactly the same as last time!)

Fun and/or Interesting Things from the Week: Half way mark is exciting, but still so far to go. It's nice this time around because some of the moms from mothers' group are also pregnant (we can complain together). We have a girl's name picked out and are down to the top 2 for boy names!

Belly Button in or out? Still in.

Wedding rings on or off? Off. I had terrible swelling last time and got carpal tunnel. I am really afraid it's going to be worse this time!

Happy or moody most of the time: Very happy, and nervous to add another to the mix because things have gotten into such a good place with Hudson.

New Baby Items: None yet. I plan to limit the buying until after the baby is born.

Hudson - 2 years

His stats:

Weight - 31.6 pounds
Height - 92 centimeters

His likes/dislikes:

He dislikes not getting his way and absolutely hates when Dad holds Mom's hand.

He likes going to the park, playing hide and seek, reading, and spending every possible moment with Dad. We also let him occasionally watch Dora the Explorer, which he likes (although he can't get through an entire episode)

His adventures:

He went to his first wedding - his Uncle got married.

Despite the look on his face, he had a good time. Especially when he saw the Bride's niece.

He's had many adventures with his friends.

His biggest adventure was flying to America to visit my parents and best friend! The flights weren't too bad because we had tons of extra seats (I love empty planes!).

Thoughts on the last few months:

His language has exploded and he wants to try to do everything himself. I love seeing him learn and grow. He's such a sweet child - always quick to share with us and wanting to cuddle. I feel blessed that he's mine.

The alligator misbehaved and got time out. Haha! We give Hudson time out of 10 seconds if he's not listening, and apparently he applies the same rules to his animals.
