Hudson - Three months

I don't know why, but I feel as though 3 months is a big deal. Perhaps it's that around this time your little newborn becomes an infant. Or maybe that it's a quarter of the way to the b-i-g 1. Maybe it's just that I like celebrating everything!!

Hudson gave me some cute pictures for his 3 month update.

His stats:

Weight - 15 pounds 5 ounces

Height - 65 centimeters

His likes/dislikes:

New this month in the like department is "the blue hole" (the Hubs removed the wood furnace so we have a hole in the ceiling covered with tarp and Hudson loves staring at it. Good thing because it probably won't get fixed right away).

He also loves listening to his baby Einstein take along tunes. And of course playing with his mouth still gets plenty of smiles, as does bunny kisses.

He still dislikes being cold after a shower, being hungry, and that's about it.

His adventures:

He experienced his first (second, third, and fourth) visit to the park. I was blown away by how much he loved it.

New changes this month:

He makes much more eye contact and definitely notices your presence more. He is getting stronger with tummy time and seems to enjoy it.

Thoughts on the month:

He brightens up my life so much! I love spending time with him. Most days we try to get out of the house. He loves seeing new things.

We also finished his nursery, and I love it!

I will be going back to work next week, which will be hard. I feel so grateful that I have the opportunity to work 2 days per week with 1 day being from home. I missed working, so I feel like this is the perfect arrangement. We are hoping that the Hubs will be able to work from home the day I'm in the office. I feel incredibly lucky to have the life I have - one filled with so much love and so little stress.

Off to stare at my sleeping baby (seriously, I'm obsessed!),

Hudson - Two months

Two months in and I feel like a professional (not!). I do, however, feel more confident. I also love my baby even more (didn't think it was possible, but I am o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d).

I feel like he's doing an impersonation of Joey from Friends - "how you doin?"

Of course there were outtakes . . .

His stats:

Weight - 13 pounds 5 ounces

Height - 61 centimeters

His likes/dislikes:

Likes - shutters are still #1, laps around the house, moving (in the pram or baby bjorne), and playing games with his mouth (lightly touching the sides or moving his bottom lip), bunny kisses from his bunny rattle and staring at his new mobile (Christmas gifts from his grandparents).

Dislikes - being cold after a shower/bath and not getting his way (seriously the lil man knows what he wants to do all day every day)

His adventures:
He went furniture shopping (slept the whole time) and spent a week with the grandparents over Christmas. He was really good being in a new environment, and started putting himself to sleep. He had his first picture with Santa & celebrated his first Christmas.

He went to the Gisborne market (slept the whole time). He also had his first sleepover at Auntie Chelsea's house for New Year's Eve while the Hubs and I went to a wedding (where he slept for 8.5hrs for the first time - the jerk!).

New changes this month:

He sleeps for 6 hours most nights, and we even had a few 8 hours in the last week. We also gave him his first pacifier tonight, but I'm not sure if we'll keep using it (he was a big fan, although it took him awhile to figure it out and he kept spitting it out accidentally). We get smiles and giggles daily, which melt my heart!

He's also able to hold things (like tiny, adorable rattles). He obviously thinks he's the #1 baby in the world for mastering this skill. I did tell him he was the #1 first born baby in our family . . . haha.

Thoughts on the month:
I love making him smile, and I feel as though I'm starting to get to know him and his different cries. I breastfed in public for the first time. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Off to sleep (for who knows how long),
