Snowed In

(Aussie's driveway and car)

I should be landing in Las Vegas right about now, but instead I'm trapped inside on a snow-filled Saturday in MD. When snow covers the ground it transforms everything into something beautiful, and even when it causes me to miss my flight to see my best friend I still find it awe-inspiring. Looking outside my window I feel truly blessed for the small things in life--heat, shelter, food. We often forget how fortunate we are because we focus so hard on all that we do not have. I strive to be grateful everyday. I hope today you find time to appreciate the beauty in your life.

The Mall at Christmas...

Happy Friday Everyone!

Yesterday I drove up to MD from VA, so I could see my Aussie. I decided to head straight to the mall (since Aussie was at a holiday dinner for work). WOW! The mall is insane at this time of the year. Getting to the mall resulted in getting lost several times, one loud scream and a few unpleasant words exchanged with nuvi (my gps). I've since made up with nuvi, but I didn't manage to score any gifts for the fam. I suppose I'll have to head into the craziness again today. This will be the first Christmas we spent at my parents.

Last Christmas (and the one before that) I spent with the Aussie's family in Melbourne. His family is absolutely amazing! Below is a picture from a hike Aussie and I did.

So much to do, so little time.

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

So it begins . . .

I have read countless blogs and sifted through each post being inspired and motivated with the thoughts. I hope one day to repay the favor, but in the meantime I am here to simply share my life--the ups, the downs, and the laughs. There should be plenty of all three because in the next twelve months I will be graduating from law school, taking the bar, marrying an amazing Aussie, and swapping the cookies for the green smoothies.

I know Thanksgiving is over, but I figured I'd post a picture of my favorite part of the holiday . . .

This was the second vegan Thanksgiving I celebrated with my Aussie, and he made the incredible apple crumble.

The next post will be about my adventures in Vegas . . . dress shopping!

Till Then,
