What I've been up to

Aside from waddling around, I've been getting up to a random assortment of activities -

Baking (for the MIL's bday) . . .

Enjoy the weather . . .

Rocking out at bodypump . . .

And of course, spending lot of time at work. Today is day 1 of week 32 and I was hit with the tired bug. I hope it was just a one off, but time shall tell. I did manage to (finally) try prenatal yoga, and I realised how absolutely un-flexible I have become. It was completely self-induced because I stopped stretching. Shame on me! I'm hoping to find a bit of flexibility in the next two months.

In other news, I've adopted a new approach to dinner - half the plate is full of steamed veggies. I have been tracking fruits and veggies for a bit, and I wasn't completely satisfied with how many I was eating. This is an easy boast. Tonight I did a combo of broccoli, peas, corn, and string beans. Hello, nutrients! It also makes thinking about dinner a bit easier. Win, win.

Off to catch some zzzs,

Babymoon - Lake's Entrance

I'm feeling very relaxed after the babymoon. I really like the idea of taking time to have a nice little vacation with your partner before the baby comes. When deciding where to go I knew I didn't want to fly anywhere (I don't think my poor swollen feet could handle it), which meant we were limited to driving distance. I also couldn't do wineries, skiing, or spas, which are all good trips in the area. I wanted to go somewhere I haven't been before which took Great Ocean Road out of the running. Enter Lake's Entrance.

We left early Friday morning and stopped in Melbourne for breakfast then headed to the Lillico Glass Studio.

We bought a beautiful glass plate, a knick knack for the nursery, and some floating birds for my MIL's garden.

I was really glad we decided on a hotel that offered 1 bedroom apartments.

We stayed in this apartment for a few hours, because when I went to have a shower the showerhead flew off!!! The hotel was quick to move us into another apartment (that was slightly bigger) and gave us some chocolate and beers (and a working shower), so it worked out in the end.

Dinner was delicious ghetto Mexican food - you know the type of place that skimps on aesthetics but delivers on flavour.

The weekend was filled with exploring local national parks and beaches.

After lots of walking and exploring, we enjoyed a delicious meal at Vibez Cafe. I went with the spicy lentil burger and it was really good. Although I did have to deconstruct it to eat it, because it was massive.

Weekend highlights also included heated pools, lush bath bombs, and a pedicure

And a lot of random "selfies" ....

It was the perfect little get-away and I loved spending so much quality time with the Aussie. Too bad someone didn't do the food shopping and cleaning while I was gone.

Off to enjoy the last moments of the weekend,

B

The Work Week

Another work week done and dusted! I'm excited to be heading off to Lake's Entrance for our babymoon (yes, I support any reason to celebrate or take a vacation). This week I spent my time alternating between thoughts that this baby is going to be here before we know it and the fear that I cannot possibly last another 12 weeks with this ever-growing basketball strapped to my stomach (add a few, quite a few, thoughts of wishing for ankles instead of cankles).

This week I also realised that my crafting skills may have peaked in kindergarten. I decided to make a little babymoon game for us - twelve questions to answer about the baby that we can look back on his 1st birthday and realise how wrong we were. Questions include: when will he be born, who will change his first diaper, what will his first word be and how much sleep will we get.

I know, you are incredibly impressed with my over-the-top crafting project. I figure I can only improve from here. Right?

Other highlights this week included my first time at Schnitz (okay, okay it was also my second time .. those wraps are addictive).

And getting to spend time with this handsome husband ...

Off to couch cuddle,

B
